Polyethnic best describes The Gypsies, a European-style strolling and ethnic dance band which has been
playing for Houston's social occasions since 1974. They are versatile in their repertoire, which
includes Eastern European, Swing, Klezmer, French, Italian, British Isles, German, Polish-American, Czech, Norteņo, Cajun
and Zydeco, Country, Middle Eastern and Meditteranean and Tropical styles of music. They play
balalaikas, accordions, violins, mandolins, guitars, banjos, bouzouki, a full array of horns and assorted ethnic percussion,
and a wide variety of other folk instruments.
We also feature specialty groups including Salsa, Flamenco guitar, mariachis, Caribbean steel drum bands, Tejano, Celtic, Irish, Cuban and Hawaiian music, as well as folk music from around the world.
